Geico’s retrial victory to get out from under a $4.4 million bad-faith award in Tampa has been backed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Middle District of Florida Judge Susan Bucklew vacated the first verdict after agreeing with Geico that she erroneously allowed jurors to hear another insurer paid its policy limits in a road-rage wreck that left a woman dead and seriously injured two other people.
