Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders removed a civil RICO lawsuit against Fox News, Republican candidate for second congressional district of Georgia Jeremy C. Hunt and ‘Fox & Friends’ host Brian M. Kilmeade to Georgia Middle District Court on Thursday. The suit was filed by attorney Kenneth E. Barton III and Cooper Barton & Cooper on behalf of Wayne Johnson for Congress, which contends that Hunt’s frequent appearances on Fox violate campaign finance laws and the Equal Time Act. The suit also accuses Fox and Kilmeade of committing mail and wire fraud by assisting Hunt, who frequently misrepresents his military career and other credentials, with garnering campaign contributions. The case is 4:22-cv-00118, Wayne Johnson For Congress Inc. et al v. Hunt et al.

According to the secretary of state’s website, Johnson lost in the May 24 Republican primary election, and Hunt was defeated in the June 21 primary runoff.
