A Texas district court judge issued a decision on Sept. 13, 2023, declaring that "DACA," a program providing certain benefits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children, is illegal. The ruling states that new applications will not be adjudicated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), however, those who already have DACA designation will be allowed to renew it.
