Shearman and Sullivan land top roles on $11bn NYSE Euronext counterbid

Shearman & Sterling and Sullivan & Cromwell have won lead roles on Nasdaq OMX and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE)'s $11.3bn (£7bn) bid for NYSE Euronext, reports The Am Law Daily. Nasdaq and ICE announced on Friday (1 April) that they had teamed up for the bid, around six weeks after German exchange Deutsche Boerse agreed to purchase the New York Stock Exchange's parent for $10bn (£6.2bn).

DLA Piper is set to enter the Mongolian legal market after securing an alliance with local firm C&G Partners. The two-partner Mongolian firm will become a DLA Piper 'focus firm', with DLA targeting local work in sectors including mining, capital markets, banking, project finance, hospitality and leisure and infrastructure. Magic circle duo among five firms on record-breaking Singapore IPO

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Allen & Gledhill, Allen & Overy (A&O), King & Wood and Jun He Law Offices are advising on what could be the largest-ever initial public offering (IPO) in Singapore, writes The Asian Lawyer. Hutchison Port Holdings, the world's largest container port operator, is seeking as much as $4.2bn (£2.6bn) from its issue. According to the preliminary prospectus, the listing will also see an additional investment of $1.6bn (£993m) from investors including Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings, US hedge fund Paulson & Co and Cathay Life Insurance.

Clifford Chance (CC) and Italian leader Bonelli Erede Pappalardo have won advisory roles as Italian fashion group Prada eyes up a float on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
