BBC, ITN and Sky News lobby David Cameron to lift ban on court TV

The BBC, ITN and Sky News have called on Prime Minister David Cameron to push through new legislation allowing courtroom proceedings to be televised. In a joint letter sent today (6 February) the three broadcasters urge the Prime Minister to make "timely progress" by including the Bill lifting the prohibition on cameras in court in this May's Queen's Speech.

Private equity house Duke Street has acquired a majority stake in the Parabis Group, the parent company of insurance litigation law firms Plexus Law and Cogent Law. The deal, which values Parabis between £150m and £200m, is subject to approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), but is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.

Fry, who will co-head CC's litigation group alongside Audley Sheppard, will join the firm's Paris office in September. He was previously a CC partner from 1999 until he joined the ICC in 2007.
