One Privileged E-Mail in a Chain Does Not Protect All, Judge Rules

An entire e-mail chain cannot be withheld during e-discovery as protected by attorney-client privilege on the grounds that it contains a single message with privileged information, a New York federal magistrate judge has ruled. The ruling came during discovery in an $800,000 contract dispute between benefits consultant BenefitVision and Gentiva, one of its clients.
