A jury this week awarded New Britain resident John Logan $202,000 for injuries he suffered when his vehicle was struck by a motorist driving without insurance. Liberty Mutual, Logan's carrier, must pay the verdict pending an appeal.

On Dec. 6, 2013, plaintiff Bita Alizadehtazi, 32, was in a crosswalk on Valley Road at its intersection with Mountain Avenue, in Elkins Park, when her right knee was struck by a sedan. The car had been on Valley Road and attempted to turn left at the intersection. Alizadehtazi claimed knee injuries.

A Brooklyn Supreme Court jury has awarded $11.03 million in damages to a deliveryman who was struck from behind by a car as he carted Mexican food on his motorized bike. But because of a “high-low agreement" between the parties, arrived at during a nearly two-week damages trial held this month, he will collect $3 million.
