Pennsylvania resident Jorge Amparo suffered back and neck injuries after a tractor-trailer rear-ended the car he was driving on Interstate 95 in Westport in 2014. He won a $15 million jury verdict in May and recently both sides agreed, after filing postverdict motions, to settle the case for $18.6 million.

A Stamford woman injured when her vehicle was rear-ended in Stamford in 2016 has received a settlement of $150,000. Douglas Davis' Lexus rear-ended a 2005 Chrysler that plaintiff Analethia Williams was driving on High Ridge Road in Stamford, according to a January 2018 lawsuit filed in Stamford Superior Court.
