The family of then-8-year-old Aaron Friedman sued the management at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard after the boy fell from a railing while giving high-fives to players heading onto the ice for a hockey match. The boy suffered a concussion, among other injuries. A jury has awarded $200,000.

A federal judge Thursday upped the amount of punitive damages R.J. Reynolds Tobacco must pay a woman who smoked one of its cigarette brands for more than 25 years. U.S. District Judge Stefan Underhill sided with plaintiff Barbara Izzarelli, but the tobacco company is expected to appeal.

A patient of a medical practice who complained she was turned away because of her service dog, told her story to a TV station. When reached for comment, the practice then provided the station with private health information about the patient. The practice has now agreed to pay the government $125,000.
