Pennsylvania's Democratic governor sued the state Legislature on July 28 over a package of proposed constitutional amendments that Republican lawmakers are pursuing, including one that would say the state constitution does not guarantee any rights relating to abortion or public funding of abortions.

Following is a listing of executive, legislative and judicial action in Harrisburg for the period beginning July 28. Both houses of the General Assembly were in recess at press time, Aug. 4. The state House of Representatives was scheduled to return to session Sept. 12, subject to recall by Speaker Bryan Cutler, R-Lancaster. The Pennsylvania Senate was set to reconvene Sept. 19, subject to recall by Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman, R-Centre.
