Making the Smartest Use of Focus Groups

Many litigators mistrust focus groups because, after all, "pretend" jurors are fundamentally different from actual jurors. Although focus groups may not give some attorneys what they really want -- a key insight into the verdict a real jury will render -- this doesn't mean they have no value. Used properly, says Linda Crawford, focus groups can provide a new perspective on the case. To a certain extent, having someone on the outside look at the case can serve as a reality check.
