Philadelphia Republican Party GC Moving to Wolf Block

Michael P. Meehan, long-time GC to the Philadelphia Republican Party, will be leaving Reed Smith next month to join Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen. The move was initiated, Meehan said, because his local and regional practice did not match with the strategy of Reed Smith. The managing partner of Reed Smith's Philadelphia office, Robert A. Nicholas, says he wishes Meehan the best, and does not think Meehan's departure will have an effect on Reed Smith's business.

Red Bull Distributor Settles Lawsuit With Iowa Bar

The distributor of the popular energy drink Red Bull has reached an out-of-court settlement with an Iowa bar that allegedly advertised cocktails mixed with the drink but used imitation brands instead. Red Bull North America sued the Sports Column in May, accusing the sports bar of violating federal trademark protections. The company claimed bartenders mixed cocktails with a similar drink, called Roaring Lion, but led customers to believe Red Bull was used.
