The Judicial Branch Certification Commission wants the Texas Supreme Court to rule it is immune from any obligation to certify depositions generated by artificial intelligence.

The commission, a creation of the Supreme Court, has been embroiled for nearly three years in a dispute with a court reporter and her firm over its refusal to address her complaint against StoryCloud Inc., a San Diego, California-based company that marketed itself as a digital deposition service when it launched in 2017, and for a time operated in Texas.
