Vinson & Elkins, Baker Botts and Thompson & Knight each had a piece of a $1.3 billion deal that called for Pioneer Natural Resources Co. and Newpek LLC to sell an interest in their lease in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas to Reliance Industries Ltd. And in another deal, William Turcotte, senior vice president and general counsel of Noble Corp., turned to Baker Botts for its acquisition of FDR Holdings Ltd., for $2.16 billion in cash, through a joint venture agreement.
