"Alba," an undocumented immigrant, worked long hours for years as a commercial housekeeper to provide for her kids. Her boss routinely underpaid her and owed her thousands of dollars in overtime. He had previously thwarted a Department of Labor (DOL) investigation of his business by threatening to fire housekeepers who did not cover up his illegal actions.
