Levi Strauss, the clothing company with roots in the California Gold Rush, filed a trademark complaint against a Japanese company and two U.S. businesses it says have infringed on its iconic trademarks.

The complaint, filed Sept. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, cites instances of alleged counterfeiting, trademark infringement, dilution and unfair competition against FullCount Co., Franklin and Poe Trust Co. and Standard & Strange.
