- Gerding spent three years at the SEC, departing at the end of 2024.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer added Erik Gerding, former director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporate Finance, as a corporate partner in Silicon Valley on Friday.
Gerding started his tenure at the SEC in 2021 as a deputy director of legal and regulatory policy, moving up to director in February 2023, where he remained through the end of 2024. He counsels clients on various securities-related issues including corporate governance, financial markets and regulation.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
