Slater & Gordon takes over personal injury law firm Fentons in £32.5m deal

Slater & Gordon has announced a 37% increase in global revenues alongside the £32.5m acquisition of UK personal injury law firm Fentons Solicitors. The fast-growing Australian firm, which in 2007 became the world's first publicly listed law firm, saw revenue grow 36.7% to A$297.6m (£171.2m) in 2012-13, while net profit after tax was up 67.6% to A$41.9m (£24.1m).

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has completed an overhaul of its pay structure in Hong Kong as part of the integration of its legacy King & Wood and Mallesons Stephen Jaques arms in the city. The Sino-Australian firm, which last month confirmed it will merge with the UK's SJ Berwin as of 1 November this year, has aligned the way its pays salaries and bonuses to lawyers from both legacy King & Wood and Mallesons in Hong Kong.

Sidley Austin is to triple the size of its Singapore offices in the next two months as it looks to grow the base to around 50 lawyers in the next three years. The former managing partner of DLA Piper's Singapore office, Matthew Glynn, has resigned from the firm, marking the latest senior departure frm the office. IT and telecoms specialist Glynn, who led the Singapore base between June 2011 and February this year and was also head of the firm's Asia intellectual property and technology group, is expected to leave in the coming months to pursue his own venture.
