    At its August 2016 annual meeting, the American Bar Association passed a resolution that amended 8.4 of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct to make it an ethical violation for an attorney to "engage in conduct that the lawyer knows or reasonably should know is harassment or discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status or socioeconomic status in conduct related to the practice of law."

    This week, a much-anticipated ruling on website accessibility was issued out of the Southern District of Florida. The ruling in Gil v. Winn-Dixie Stores, case no. 16-23020-civ-Scola (S.D. FL 2017), will require the attention of businesses across the country that host websites. To recap, this was a case of first impression. After a two-day nonjury trial, Judge Robert Scola determined that Winn-Dixie's website operates as a "gateway" to its physical store locations and therefore is required to be accessible to individuals with disabilities, write Carol C.
