Sharp Corp., Japan's biggest maker of solar panels, has agreed to buy San Francisco-based Recurrent Energy in an all-cash deal worth up to $305 million. Sharp is buying the solar-power developer to expand its presence in the U.S. solar panel market and build solar power plants that will sell electricity to utilities and commercial customers. Recurrent Energy will keep its name, and operate as a subsidiary of Sharp.
