    Camerons scraps partner rank across CEE offices

    CMS Cameron McKenna has overhauled its international partnership structure, scrapping the rank of partner in its offices across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Eight CEE partners will take up a new salaried 'international manager' rank - bringing them in line with the rest of Camerons' international offices. The decision means the firm has effectively axed the partner rank outside of the UK.

    White & Case acts on record Nordic fundraising

    White & Case has acted on the largest-ever Nordic private equity fundraising, advising buy-out firm Nordic Capital on a €4.3bn (£3.6bn) fund. The deal saw funds partner Matthew Judd leading a team of partners across offices in London, the US and Sweden, advising on the structuring, establishment and closing of Nordic Capital Fund VII. The team included partners Ulf Johansson (corporate) in Stockholm and Ken Raskin (executive compensation, benefits and employment) in New York.The firm began working on the deal for Nordic Capital last year, with the fund closing last month having exceeded its initial target by €600m (£498m).

    German leader Gleiss Lutz has recruited a new partner from Lovells in a boost for its corporate practice. Patrick Kaffine, who has worked in Lovells' Frankfurt office since 2004, is set to join the local office of the German firm as a partner in the corporate practice.Kaffine's practice focuses on M&A and private equity. He has advised clients including energy giant RWE - on the sale of RWE Solutions Group to Advent International - and private equity group Deutsche Beteiligungs, on the acquisition of the ICTS Group from airport operator Fraport.

The firm is advising regular private equity client Alchemy Partners, which is understood to have held talks with Mosaic Fashions, one of Baugur's major British investments. Corporate partners Ian Martin and Simon Perry are leading the Macfarlanes' team advising Alchemy. Mosaic - the company behind High Street names including Oasis, Coast and Karen Millen - has turned to Manchester-based Heatons for advice on any potential bid.
