    French independent firm Gide Loyrette Nouel has launched its first graduate recruitment programme in the UK. The firm, which has operated in London since 2003, expects to take on at least two graduates in its City outpost each year, starting in March next year.

    Parisian independent Bredin Prat has recruited leading employment lawyer Pascale Lagesse from the local offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to launch a new practice area. Lagesse, who heads the employment department at the local office of Freshfields, is set to join Bredin Prat in October this year. The hire represents the first foray into employment law for the corporate boutique, which operates a 'best friends' relationship with Slaughter and May in the UK.

Lagesse, who heads the employment department at the local office of Freshfields, is set to join Bredin Prat in October this year.     Brandi handed top role on CMS ex-com

    CMS Hasche Sigle managing partner Cornelius Brandi has been elected as the new chairman of the executive committee for the CMS law firm alliance. Brandi takes up his new role today (16 June), replacing current CMS chairman Pierre-Sebastien Thill - the managing partner of French member firm CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre - in the role.

    CMS Austrian member adds with local merger

    CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz - the Austrian ally of top 20 City firm CMS Cameron McKenna - is set to merge with boutique Dallmann & Juranek. The two Vienna-based firms are set to tie up under the Reich-Rohrwig banner, subject to regulatory approval by the Vienna Bar Association. Dallmann & Juranek specialises in banking and finance work, as well as corporate law, and advises clients including banks, other financial institutions and publishing companies.

Decker joins the US firm as a partner in its German real estate practice.
