DLA Piper's continental European offices saw turnover grow by 60 percent during 2006-07 to make up around a quarter of the firm's revenues outside of the U.S. Turnover in the offices grew by $87.85 million to hit $234.95 million during the last tax year, increasing their share of the firm's non-U.S. turnover from 19 percent to just over 25 percent. Davis Polk & Wardwell has recruited Georges Terrier, the managing partner of respected Paris independent firm Jeantet, along with partner Christophe Perchet, as the Wall Street leader boosts its only foreign law practice. The hires will be seen as a significant move in the market after Davis Polk launched its first foreign law office in 2005 with the hire of Freshfields' co-head of local M&A, Arnaud Peres. A bankruptcy judge on Wednesday approved two more concession agreements from Northwest Airlines employee unions, deals that could clear the way for nearly $750 million in cost savings from the carrier's new labor pacts. Flight attendants are scheduled to finish voting on the deal by Monday. The judge also approved payment of 80 percent of about $20 million in fees to attorneys and financial advisers. Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft had filed the largest claim, of about $6.5 million for its work on the case.Bingham Nabs Seven From Stradling Yocca
Bingham McCutchen has boosted its Southern California securities litigation practice with the addition of three partners and four associates from the Orange County office of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth.
