China Trial of Rio Tinto Execs to Start MondayThe trial in China of four employees of Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto Group on bribery and trade secrets infringement charges is set to begin Monday. According to Reuters, the hearing on the bribery counts will be open, but the trade secrets counts will be heard in a closed proceeding; both will be held in Shanghai. A lawyer for Ge Minqiang, one of the Rio Tinto employees, confirmed to the news agency that the trial would start on March 22, but said he did not know how long the trial might last.
