Payne, a trial attorney at White and Williams who focuses on defending companies embroiled in products liability and other complex litigation, was introduced as the group's 95th chancellor at the bar association's annual meeting Monday evening. The meeting was the first in-person event the bar has held in nearly two years, and, according to outgoing Chancellor Lauren McKenna, more than 250 members registered to attend.
