Republican leaders in Pennsylvania's House of Representatives on Oct. 8 called for one of their members to resign after a newspaper disclosed the existence of videos posted to a since-deleted social media account in which he encourages his 5-year-old son to draw from a cigar and use profane language, The Associated Press reported.

The Pennsylvania Senate was set to reconvene Monday. The state House of Representatives canceled the voting session that was set to begin Oct. 1 in the wake of a positive COVID-19 test that state Rep. Paul Schemel, R-Franklin, confirmed he received. The House is scheduled to return Oct. 19.
