    Gov. Wolf Allows Temporary Sales of Cocktails-to-Go

    Gov. Tom Wolf on May 21 signed House Bill 327 to allow the temporary sale of cocktails-to-go from bars, restaurants or hotels with a liquor license. The law takes effect immediately.

    The Pennsylvania Senate on May 13 approved four bills aimed at giving county governments greater control over reopening their local economies and providing waivers from executive orders closing business.

The Pennsylvania Senate was in recess at press time, subject to recall by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, R-Jefferson, on 12 hours' notice. The state House of Representatives was in recess, and was scheduled to return to session Monday. Both chambers were practicing social distancing, with senators allowed to vote remotely and state representatives able to vote by proxy through party whips.

The state House of Representatives was in session at press time. Each chamber was observing social distancing practices, including remote voting in the Senate and proxy voting through party whips in the House.

    Wolf Lays Out 3-Staged Phased Approach in Reopening Plan

    Residents of north central and northwestern Pennsylvania are projected to be the first in the state to be released from Gov. Tom Wolf's stay-at-home order, and many retail stores in those areas should be able to reopen, under a statewide plan announced April 22.
