    Ashurst adds two to management board

    Ashurst has elected two new members to its management board, with partners from London and Germany winning posts on the committee. Ashurst partners voted London litigation partner Ben Tidswell and Frankfurt corporate partner Reinhard Eyring on to the board, with effect from the start of this month.

    K&L Gates steps up Euro push with Paris launch

    Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis has launched a new office in Paris. The office opened earlier this month after the US firm hired two partners from local outfit Kahn & Associes, with further expansion planned. Diane Hedary, who is a member of both the New York and Paris bars, advises on real estate, corporate and M&A transactions, while fellow partner Olivia Le Horovitz specialises in private equity, corporate and environmental law.

    Links nears Cologne closure as partner duo exit

    Linklaters' Cologne office is a step nearer to closing with the departure of two more partners to breakaway firm Oppenhoff & Partner. Litigation partner Peter Klappich and environmental law specialist Stephan Mueller are the latest to join Oppenhoff, which launched at the beginning of this year.

    Latest Lovells hire adds to Paris arbitration

    Lovells has boosted its Paris office after completing the hire of partner Jean-Georges Betto from local boutique Derains & Associes. Betto, who started at the City firm yesterday (1 January), joins Lovells' Paris arbitration practice. He becomes the 25th partner-level hire made by Lovells during 2007 and the sixth new partner in the dispute resolution group.

    Independent French firm Lefevre Pelletier & Associes has boosted its presence in the Maghreb, opening new offices in Algeria and Morocco. The Paris-based law firm has opened for business in Algiers and Casablanca, becoming the latest in a line of French firms to expand into the region.
